Cruises, Charters & Vessels
A private charter means your group books every cabin on a permitted Galapagos vessel, together with its crew and naturalist guide. You get exclusive use of the boat, your own meal times and pace, and often more flexibility on activities within each visitor site.

What you do not get is a free-form route: every vessel operates on itineraries approved by the Galapagos National Park, and bareboat (self-skippered) charters are not available.
Charter vessels range from small yachts for roughly 8 to 16 guests up to expedition ships for 100. Charters make most sense for families, friends or groups who can fill most of the cabins. Book early, especially for holiday dates, because the whole vessel must be free.
