Charter vs shared cruise questions

What is the difference between a Galapagos charter and a shared cruise?

A charter books the whole boat for your group only; a shared cruise sells individual cabins on a fixed departure. Both follow the same park rules with a certified naturalist. What a private charter is.

How many people make a private charter worth it?

As a rule of thumb, groups that fill most of a yacht’s berths get the most from a charter. Smaller groups usually do better booking cabins on a shared departure.

Do charters and shared cruises visit different islands?

No. Every boat follows a park-approved itinerary. A charter lets you pick among the routes the chosen boat holds for your dates.

Can we book several cabins on a shared cruise instead?

Yes, and it is a good middle path for medium groups. Charter vs booking multiple cabins.

Is a charter more flexible?

You set the pace and meal times with your naturalist, but the route still follows park permits. How custom a charter really is.

Galapagos is unlike anywhere else on Earth: wildlife that does not run from you, islands still shaped by volcanoes, and a park that limits every visit. A private boat lets your group meet it on your own terms.
