04 / HOW IT WORKS

From first email to boarding

The same six steps we follow for every private charter, whatever the size of the boat. More detail in how charters work.

  1. Send your brief

Dates, headcount, ages, interests and how you like to travel, sent to hola@galapagosislands.cruises.

  2. Get a shortlist

Boats that truly fit your group, with the strengths and trade-offs we know first-hand.

  3. Hold the boat

A short option while your group decides; how long depends on the operator.

  4. Contract and deposit

Inclusions, exclusions, payment dates and cancellation terms in writing first.

  5. Fees and flights

Park fee, Transit Control Card and island flights lined up for the whole group.

  6. Pre-departure briefing

Packing, wetsuits, wet and dry landings, and what each day looks like.

05 / FAQ

Galapagos Catamaran Charter: questions

How many guests fit on a Galapagos catamaran charter?

Most take 12 to 16 guests; a few take up to 20, plus the naturalist guide.

Is a catamaran better than a motor yacht for a charter?

Catamarans offer space and stability at anchor; motor yachts feel more classic and are often quicker between islands.

Is the naturalist guide included on a charter?

Yes. Every Galapagos boat sails with a licensed naturalist guide.

Can we choose the route?

You choose from the routes the boat holds permits for.

Can you check catamaran availability?

Yes. Email hola@galapagosislands.cruises with dates and headcount.

Want a catamaran to yourselves?

Send your dates and group; we shortlist boats that fit.

Galapagos is unlike anywhere else on Earth: wildlife that does not run from you, islands still shaped by volcanoes, and a park that limits every visit. Tell us how you like to travel and we will match you with the right boat.
